If you use the Vibrant Blue Oils roller bottles, how do you know how much a drop is? It would depend on how much area you covered.

You're correct, it's not possible to measure by drops with the roller bottle. The roller is nice for ease of application and you'll simply need to use your judgement here. You can just dispense a small amount and then rub it in with your hands if you're worried.
